RITUALS AND METAMORPHOSES. REVEALING UNDERGROUND WORLDS
Another central theme in Leonor Fini’s work is her fascination with ritualistic elements and metamorphic phenomena, which give rise to hybrid creatures. The exhibition presents Asphodèle (1963), a metaphorical representation of the Greek goddess Persephone; Stryges Amaouri (1947), in which Fini portrays herself as a witch, watching over a sleeping youth alongside a hybrid creature; and La Cérémonie (1960), a magical ritual evoking spirits.
